"China Calls For Domestic Unrest To Be Defused" By Chris Buckley, Reuters. Feb 21, 2011
Readers, please, notice that this was written by a western news agency. Even so it seems to communicates the government's intentions. To imagine a similar piece of journalism reporting about protests in Madison, Wisconsin seems unlikely. That the government in China has acted in favor of censorship regarding news on the Tynusian abd Egyptian demonstration seems mild compared to the corporate media of the west refusing to publish coverage of Israel's pogrom against the Palestineans is little different.

Of human greed: Laurie Taylor interviews David Harvey, New Humanist
Readers, there are a few details in this interview that are awry, such as focusing on the McCarthy period as the primary event of great suppression and adversity to socialize, ie to place the interests of the people above the interests of wealth. The US actually was founded under its Constitution to favor both wealth and wealth seekers above ordinary citizens of lesser means and political favor since 1787 or so. The objective in favor of real world based economics, beyond self serving embezzlement is difficult as well within the fashionably socialist types who are profoundly illiterate.

Goldman Vampire Squid Gets Bitch Slapped: JP Morgan Bitch Slaps the Dow. by L. Randall Wray, UMKC
Ok here were three pieces of news today. First, Goldman Sachs was fined $550 Million for duping customers. We do not need to recap the charges in detail. Goldman helped hedge fund manager John Paulson pick toxic waste sure to go bad for collateralized debt obligations (CDOs) that Goldman would sell to its own patsy clients. Goldman and Paulson then bet against the clients. Since Paulson had picked “assets” guaranteed to go bad, it was a sure bet that Paulson and Goldman would win and that Goldman’s clients would lose.

The Town That Loved Its Bank By ANDREW MARTIN New York Times June 18, 2010
LIKE many working-class towns in the Midwest, this Chicago suburb has been on the cusp of better times for decades.
Separated by a river and woods from its wealthier neighbors, Oak Park and River Forest, it shares some of their charms: imposing, century-old homes and stately
elms and maples draping the streets. But Maywood is decidedly more blue-collar than its neighbors, and its residents are predominantly African-American. Most of

"The Greeks Get It" By Chris Hedges Truthdig Posted on May 24, 2010
Here’s to the Greeks. They know what to do when corporations pillage and loot their country. They know what to do when Goldman Sachs and international bankers collude with their power elite to falsify economic data and then make billions betting that the Greek economy will collapse. They know what to do when they are told their pensions, benefits and jobs have to be cut to pay corporate banks, which screwed them in the first place. Call a general strike. Riot. Shut down the city centers. Toss the bastards out.

The People of Greece and the Rest of Us By Carl Bloice - BlackCommentator.com Editorial Board
Readers, please, remember that these austerity programs being enforced by the IMF, the EMU, and the rest of the Free Market chorus of usurers is absolutely not necessary at all. Maintaining the fiction of an economic model that is based the concept of specie (precious metal) based money, though operating under a fiat currency process is nothing but massive scapegoating and stupidity.

U.S. lawmakers launch push to repeal NAFTA by Doug Palmer WASHINGTON Reuters Mar 4, 2010
(Reuters) - A small group of U.S. lawmakers unveiled legislation on Thursday to withdraw from the North American Free Trade Agreement in the latest sign of congressional disillusionment with free-trade deals.
The bill spearheaded by Rep. Gene Taylor, a Mississippi Democrat, would require President Barack Obama to give Mexico and Canada six months notice that the United States will no longer be part of the 16-year-old trade pact.
"At a time when 10 to 12 percent of the American people are unemployed, I think Congress has an obligation to put people back to work," Taylor said.

Trumka: Creating Jobs Is Best Way to Fix Deficit By James Parks at AFL-CIO NOW blog
Reader, Although I fully support the job creation process, the economics of the proposal is specie era based. If this was solely about the trade deficit its answer would be quite correct and would require both the taxation of capital gains made on imports and policies which establish both tariffs and jobs for our communities it would be an advance. The countercyclic use of the Federal/sovereign creation of job through asset based Federal spending is a different issue.
